BCL Grow: New Life — Galatians 6:14
Galatians 6:14 (Redemption)
But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. — Galatians 6:14
"So the cross not only brings Christ’s life to an end, it ends also the first life, the old life, of every one of His true followers. It destroys the old pattern, the Adam pattern, in the believer’s life, and brings it to an end. Then the God who raised Christ from the dead raises the believer and a new life begins.” - A.W. Tozer, The Radical Cross: The Living the Passion of Christ, pp. 14-15.
Steps to Take
1. Ponder: What significance has the death of Christ had on your life in the past, present, and future?
2. Meditate: New life in Christ means that a death of something else has occurred. Think about the wonders of God’s grace that has called forth new life in his children and how believers live in light of this new reality (Gal. 2:20).
3. Consider: What are ways this new life in Christ can be worked out through your fingertips? If the cross puts to death sinful patterns of the world, what new patterns is Christ seeking to build in your life? (Eph. 4:20-32).
